Florence

The Tuscan capital is famous all over the world for its unique beauties. City of Roman origin, built on the banks of the Arno river, for many years the cradle of culture and art, it was the birthplace of the greatest artists of the Renaissance and beyond. The artistic heritage of Florence is among the most important in the world and the historic center of the city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The church of Santa Maria del Fiore is the Duomo of Florence.

 

It is the fourth largest church in Europe, after St. Peter in the Vatican, St. Paul in London and the Milan Cathedral.

It is in fact 153 meters long while the base of the dome is 90 meters wide.
